In Honor of Black Friday...

Wild Jovis couldn't drag me out shopping on Black Friday.

But I do love to shop on any other day of  the year, by any means -- in person, online, or by catalog. *coughKENNETHCOLEcough*  I get a silly grin on my face every time I open the mailbox to find another pretty catalog full of pretty things that I can drool over.  Sometimes I get a good laugh, too.

Like today.

Around the holidays I get those goofy catalogs full of novelty crap.  You know the kind, full of stuff nobody ever NEEDS but you end up buying something from it anyway because it has the PERFECT item for so-and-so?  Well, today I got one that was chock-full of Fictionista Duds.  It took me about 2 minutes to find a perfect tee for every danged one of us.

Wanna see?

First off, given our hobbies, this one is for ALL the Fictionistas:

And there's a little something for everyone:

HATH

WILLOW
QUEENIE

FICTION MISTRESS

TARA LEIGH
KIWI

And since it's my blog post.... I get two.  I think the others will agree these both fit me pretty well.
CATTE
CATTE

Oh, and one more thing, for those of you we run into on the road....

Let the Holiday Madness commence!

Have a Fabulous ChristmaHannuKwanzivus!!!!

Are You Ready????

It's Finally HERE!!!!

FICTIONISTA FOOTBALL FRENZY!!!!

In a mere 24 hours(ish)  there will be Four Fine Fictionistas Frenzying in Casa de Goddess.  This time it's me, TaraLeigh, Willow, and Hath.  Enough for a quorum.  Of course, the other Fictionistas will be here in spirit (and via text, Twitter, and email I'm sure).  I think there might be some sort of cosmic/Karmic prohibition on ALL of the Fictionistas being together in the same place at the same time.  Could cause some catastrophic cosmic shift or something.  Could you imagine?

And come Sunday morning... well, watch your Twitter accounts, folks.  There are bound to be pictures. (Muah-ah-AH!)  Tailgate breakfast in the parking lot (LOT E????) of Gillette Stadium in Foxboro Mass, Baby!  Then the Big Game -- Ravens-Pats.  WOOOOO HOOOOO!!!!!!

Yours truly, being a Marylander, will of COURSE be sporting Ravens purple.  I know the locals will understand.  I hear New England fans are polite and gentle.  And since I can hold my own with the Finest of Philly Fans.... >:)  Don't worry, though.  I'll still be dancing and singing along to This Is Our House.  Hope we hear it a lot.  Just hope the Ravens score a wee bit MORE.

My bags are packed, booze is loaded in the car, got the Wonder Woman tote bag all filled up with goodies and necessities (including the Wonder Woman notebook), ready to head north, Baby!  First stop, overnight in Jersey with Miz Willow, then the JoviMobile heads north to Bahstin at sunup.  ROAD TRIP!

Oh, and Jonny -- if you happen to be up in that pretty luxury box with the Kraft Family, just look for the sassy redhead in the Ravens Jersey.  I'll meet you anywhere you want....  :P

Memories of Lot E...

As I sit here in this smoky room... night about to end...

Okay, it's not a SMOKY room, it's my Jovi-nook.  It's kind of musky and spicy.  And the night's not over yet.  But let's not nitpick.

Tonight the Jovis are playing Round 4 of their New Meadowlands Stadium set.  I'm following along on the Twitter play-by-play, chatting a bit with friends, and working on my latest Fic.  But my heart is in Jersey.

Just 41 short days ago I was singing myself hoarse  and dancing my booty off at the third NMS show.  And Man Alive, WHAT a show that was!  Just Older, Raise Your Hands, Living in Sin, Diamond Ring, I'd Die For You, Dry County, and my personal favorite -- a little Rolling Stones cover of Jumping Jack Flash right smack-dab in the middle of I'll Sleep When I'm Dead.

But amazing as that show was, the very, very, very best part my weekend in Jersey was finally, at last, meeting ALL the Fictionistas and Friends.  By this time Hath, FM, and Willow were old friends, but I had yet to meet Queenie, TaraLeigh, and the Fabulous Super Kiwi.  I also met SOOO many other great JoviGals:  Stas, Vicki, Iris, Deb, Summer, Elena...  It was truly a Jovi Summit of epic proportions.  And WHAT a time we had!

Queenie, Tara, and Kiwi were gracious enough to share a piece of floor (well, actually an air mattress) with Willow and I.  And somehow, they still love us. :)  But I will say, ever the well-mannered guest, I DID arrive with six bottles of wine and a ginormous carton of Goldfish crackers to share.

And thus the debauchery began.

SO many memories:
  • Meeting Joe the Backstage Caterer waiting for the elevator on the third floor.  TIP:  JBJ ringtone -- often source of embarrassment, but guaranteed conversation starter.
  • Amazing Cab Karma with Willow.  Her train was late; we had tickets to Memphis.  We made it out of Penn Station, straight into a cab, and to the theater in TEN MINUTES.  Even had time to get a $15 glass of wine before curtain.
  • RICHIE!!!!  He was at Memphis.  He was six feet away from us at the stage door.  Ahhhh.....
  • "BYOP":  Bring Your Own Porn
  • Driving to New Meadowlands, blasting New Jersey.  Hunting for the Elusive Lot E; relying on Parking Helper Monkeys for directions (BAD MOVE).  Finally finding Lot E after completely circling the stadium.  NOTE:  Lot E is located in the smoldering ruins of Old Giants Stadium.
  • Tailgating out of the back of the van.  Tailgate menu:  Red Wine.  White Wine.  Any questions?
  • Having the World's Best $5 grilled cheese sandwich at NMS.  Two Thumbs Up!!!
  • Damn.... that guy with the hair and the tank top.......
  • Two words:  Jack Bauer.  *swoon*
  • Willow sitting down mid-show to change camera batteries and promptly getting smacked in the head by Catte.  (Hey, NOBODY sits during a Jovi Show when they're with ME!)
  • Wendy's Drive Thru -- TWICE.  Hey, when you order fries, you want FRIES, Dammit! (Oh no, there's MORE!)
  • Kiwi:  "Just push the Flute Button."  Rest of Us:  "Huh?  WTF is a Flute Button?"  Kiwi:  There's an App for that!
  • Lara the Hotel Desk Girl, who was brave enough to a) buy one of the Fictionista's extra show tix, and b) ride home with us after the show.  Poor girl is probably in therapy now.
Ahhh.... Memories.

I'm not sure they'll ever let us all enter the State of New Jersey together again.

Falling In Love With a 'New' Story

I think this is a general Fan Fictionista problem. We all have such active imaginations that the ideas tumble faster than we can write them down. Most of us have more than one story running because we get into that slump--and fall in love with a new idea.

It's not far off from a regular writing career. The curse of the never completed story.

It's something I suffer from, repeatedly.

So, tell me...how many of us--FF or otherwise suffer from this disease?

A Special Thought

For two of our Fictionista's that have suffered losses in the last week. Sam and Hath our thoughts are with you and your families.

As for the rest of us, Queenie is away in the great outdoors for the weekend, Catte is killing us all with amazing You Tube videos from the o2 shows, make sure you check out this site for all your tour media, the girls have really worked hard with this: The Circle Tour . Willow has just recovered from a stomach bug---it's never boring here, let me say that!

Tara is returning to life after being disrupted by me for two weeks lol, and writing like a demon on her projects. As for Kiwi, I've returned to life in the fold at home and work is just as hellish as it was before I left, but I'm planning a Down-under tour in December when the guys come so that'll keep me out of trouble and broke, lol.

That's where we are at, plenty more to come, check us out on twitter we're usually around causing some kind of havoc. ;)

Ciao for now.

A wise man once said...

(Okay so it was Dr Seuss)

"Don't cry when something comes to end, be happy it even happened."

And that is how I feel today. Four flights, four airports and forty-eight hours later, I am home from one of the most awesome trips of a lifetime. I'm a little sad but so grateful I had an opportunity to come over, hang out with you all at sometime or another. I really couldn't have hoped for more.

Jovi-fandom certainly has a lot to answer for, it's more than just a band. It's a lifestyle. ;)

So I will at some point write a blog post around this, and dig through a gazillion pictures. That is after I build my new shelf in the bathroom for all my bath and body works products I smuggled home, LOL.

But thank you--and it was so lovely to meet all of you and everyone else we ran into. I will never forget it.

I'm Leaving on a Jet Plane...

Don’t know when I’ll be back again…

Well, that’s not entirely true. I’ll be home Sunday night around 10:30 PM EST if all goes well. (Please God let there be no problems I have to work on Monday). Right now though, it’s 6:00 A.M. and I’m on a plane headed to Boston to meet up with Hath and Willow for my first arc in The Circle! My second one comes in May, but that's a story for another day. :)

I’m joining my friends for the second show at the Mohegan Sun Casino tonight. I can hardly wait. I’m not sure I even slept last night. But really, can you blame me? I’ve been waiting for forever it seems for this weekend. Well, only since December when we bought the tickets, but you get the idea. I’ve followed the tweets, been checking the BJCT blog, and now, FINALLY, it’s my turn!!

I’ve got everything. Yes, Catte and Kiwi, I made a list so I wouldn’t forget anything. My camera is packed, comfy shoes, Willow has my ticket (at least she better have it printed out and waiting for me) and I raided the Jovi account for funds for swag. What more could I need? I managed to fit everything in one small carry on size suitcase too. My hub was suitably impressed. He was sure I wasn’t going to be able to get everything to fit. Pfft, what does he know?

Not sure what Hath has planned for us to do between the time I land and when we have to leave for the concert. There was chatter of hanging in her game room, which sounds like a fun place to play (air hockey, pool, etc.) maybe getting some BBQ, but I really don’t care. I’m just glad I get to spend some quality time with girls I haven’t seen since last August and we get to go to a show together. Sounds like the perfect girls night out to me.

Four hours til I land in Beantown… Hath and Willow, here I come…

Well my bags are packed...

... I'm ready to go.

Damn, am I ready to go.

I have a little over 7 hours before I board the train (Amtrak) for 30th Street. Wills, I'll call you when I hit NYC, and figure out where to meet you and FM :)

I have been looking forward to this trip for MONTHS and now it is finally here!

Not only do I get to see Willow again (and meet her gorgeous little puppy), but I get to see the Fiction Mistress again, and will meet Catte Sambora for the first time (though we've been friends for what feels like FOREVER)!

Tomorrow, we will stop and say a prayer to whatever god(s) we pray to for TaraLeigh and her family, as they mourn the loss of Tara's mom. You will be in our hearts and minds all week, sweetie :)

Tuesday and Wednesday are the shows at Wachovia (two for sure, hopefully three if one or more of us win the WMMR lotto). Thursday Wills and I will say goodbye to FM and Catte and head into NYC for the afternoon. So far, we know we're taking in Memphis that evening (David, honey, the invitation to drinks still stands -- let me know) and we are SERIOUSLY contemplating getting inked. We'll let you know how that works out...

Friday, it's a long-ass bus ride from NYC back to Bahstin, where my mom'll pick us up and take us to my house where we'll meet up with my SIL and another Jovi friend, Bonnie, who we're also meeting for the first time. We'll make the trek down to Mohegan (and see if we can't cruise the high-stakes tables after the show lol) before heading back home.

Saturday we'll pick up Queenie from the airport, perhaps partake in some BBQ at my friend's rib joint, and trundle back to Mohegan for night 2. By Sunday afternoon, when the girls have to go home, I'm sure we'll all be a mixture of overjoyed and depressed, which ought to make for an interesting Monday :)

But oh, who cares!

It's Jovi Week.

And I'm packed and ready to go.

Monday, Monday.... so good to me

Hello loves and lasses... (don't ask, it's just the first thing that came out this morning)...

It's been entirely too long since I've posted here, because it's been entirely too long since we Fictionistas have been able to get together. And while it won't be ALL of us this time around, it will be most of us in one form or another from now until next Monday... and that is good enough for me, at least for now.

First of all, I want to again express my deepest sympathies to my favorite red-haired Fictionista, TaraLeigh, on the passing of her mama. We know the next two days are not going to be easy ones and we are there with you in spirit and sisterhood. Lots of love and hugs coming your way and we will all take a moment of silence tomorrow morning for a tribute to her. XOX

Today brings with it the arrival of The Goddess Hath and The Fiction Mistress to my fine city of Brotherly Love... and since at least a couple of our 'brothers' are bound to be around, maybe there will be an out of concert sighting or two. You never know in Philly.

Lots of talk about set lists and what to expect. Jon and the boys never disappoint in Philly, so I think we are all in for 2 nights of true bliss with at least one surprise up each sleeve of the frontman. Still waiting to see if any of us get into the special "Soul" concert, it's not looking good for me, but you never know.

More later, but for now I must get my day started. The small blond furry one is sound asleep next to me and I'm jealous... oh, to be a puppy.

-Wils

In Just Over 30 Days...

...I will be starting my Jovi Week...

I'll get on a train (Southbound, not Homebound) for New Jersey to Willow's place. We'll be bunking at her apartment with FM and Catte, and I can't WAIT.

Two nights in Philly with FM and Catte.

Wills and I will see Memphis on Thursday night, plus get a night in NYC.

Then we'll take the bus back to Boston, and my Mom will pick us up and take us to my house. Then we'll get two nights at Mohegan, where we will spend time with Queenie and Bonnie.

It's going to be amazing.

I can't wait.
